Some of the best times of my life

I had a prophesy given to me on February 6th 2010 at the local Healing Rooms that this would be the best time of my life. So far I should say it has been.

I had to wait a month or so for the good things to happen. First was a trip to Vancouver, Canada for my English nephew Richard Wood's wedding to Esther Moses. It was a very interesting time and Susie my daughter and I went to three separate events on three days. First there was the Henna party where most girls wore saris and had their arms decorated with henna. Esther is an Indian Jewess. We had some very good food over the days we were there. Altogether it was a fun time and I enjoyed seeing my twin brother and his large family who I do not see much as they live in England , Canada and Prague as well as San Francisco.

Then I went on vacation to South Lake Tahoe with my family in July. Later in the month on July 30th and 31st. Michael's wife Farah held a book release party for her new children's book "Watson's Case". Part of it was held in a local toy store. Michael and Farah set up games for the kids to play. The store did good trade while we were there and Farah sold and signed a lot of books. I really enjoyed this.

Then came the most exciting event, the birth of Emma Rose on August 2nd to Lisa and Kyle at Mount Sinai hospital in Beverly Hills. Lisa had a fast labor so we were too late to see the actual birth. Emma Rose was and is a tiny baby weighing in at 5lb 9oz at birth. Dick and I plan to go down to stay near them in Santa Monica at the end of September. Dick guessed Emma's name months before she arrived.

Two more pieces of news, the announcement of Katie's and Farah's pregnancies. Katie is due to have a baby boy around November 5th and Farah is due April 6th, 2011. Look on Farah and Lisa's blogs for more info.

I guess all this does make for an exciting year.

Well one of you wondered if he tried to kiss me the answer is "No" Anyway I considered that day one of the best in my life. Most of you reading this will know Dick by now some of you know him very well . He did give me a call and we saw each other almost every day until mid December when he flew back to Hawaii and took up a management analyst for hospital administration position.

I am sorry you have had to wait so long for another post from me. I did not really want to leave you hanging like that. Anyway to continue the story. As we were about to get off the train the young man turned and spoke to me. We got off the train and had a conversation as we walked along the long platform at Victoria station. At the ticket barrier the young man asked me if I would like to go to a play with him. After a momentary pause, wondering if this was wise, I said, "Yes".

I continued on my way to Australia House with my new found friend accompanying me.

I guess he thought if he left me we may never meet up again. He went to Australia House with me and then took me out to lunch and to "Promise Promises" which was playing in the theatre district.

We traveled down to Brighton on the train together. I found out he was a student at Sussex University and his name was Dick Shaw.

Dick had a car parked near the station there and this posed a problem as I had intended to catch a bus. I was nervous to drive with him to Southwick where I lived with my widowed mother. Then Dick suggested I call my mother to let her know we were coming. This put my mind at rest so after going to an Italian restaurant -the Vesuvia he drove me home. We said goodnight at the door and I gave him my telephone number. I wondered if I'd ever hear from him again..........
